On my Collaborate With Fate blog this week I was looking at Coalescent charts, and noting how the transits to these charts are a precise timing tool for events in the life of a couple.
When astrologers look at how two, or more, people will get along with each other, we use a technique called Synastry. This shows what type of vibrational match there is between the two people's (or more) energy, and what phase of each cycle they are going through. It also gives us pointers as to the most likely ways they are going to interact with each other.
When we look at couples as one entity, for example, in the case of a business partnership or a romance, or marriage, we tend to use a comparison method called Composite Charts or Relationship Charts. These show the probable course of the union and some say they give clues as to the overall purpose. The straightforward composite chart looks at midpoints i.e., where the two people's energies meet and form an harmonic resonance and the Coalescent System is another type of composite system, with only a few small differences in the way they are computed. However it is these coalescent charts that seems to react most potently to transits - as I have shown with Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer (and Jade and Jack Tweed) on my blogpost JEN/JOHN OFF/ON.
Today the news came through of the sad demise of the lovely Natasha Richardson. The coalescent chart of Natasha and her husband, Liam Neeson, is shown here, click to enlarge.
THE COALESCENT CHART
On the date of her accident transiting Mars in the sky, the planet of physical blows came to precisely conjoin Pluto, the planet of endings and complete transformation, in the couples joint chart.Mars comes to this Pluto once every two years but Natasha and Liam Neeson have a very potent aspect to Pluto in their joint synastry and her natal Mars had moved on ( one day for each year of her life) to be at 3 Libra at this time. Therefore transiting Pluto in the sky, at 3 Capricorn, is now exactly square to this Mars. So there are 3 major Mars/Pluto aspects at this time.
Also Natasha had a natal chart (a birthchart) with many tense energies. See the chart at the top of the page and simply note the inordinate number of angular aspects (shown by the coloured lines) which were present at the time of her birth. In particular she was born at the time of a very harsh Mars/Saturn opposition, involved in a T-square with her natal Sun.
Mars and Saturn aspects are often associated with falls. Mars relates to the head and a forward driving motion and Saturn to hard, immovable surfaces or objects such as stone. It is reported that Natasha received a blunt injury to her head.
Last weeks Full Moon also impacted Natasha's natal chart and the upcoming New Moon falls within a degree of her Jupiter. This planet, Jupiter, normally regarded as one of the most lucky, beneficial planets in the sky, is also very prevalent at the time of a person's passing - possibly because it is also associated with 'release'.
THE SYNASTRY CHART
Does this mean that everything which occurs to us in life is fated to happen? Certainly, as astrologers have always known, the timing of events appear to mirror times of multiple alignments, and these seem to correlate to extra pressures in the psyche, which could perhaps trigger outer events. Couples, especially those who marry, also seem to be attracted to each other to live out a specific purpose, shown by the chart alignments.
We don't know why this as above, so below phenomena works from a mechanistic point of view but we certainly can proffer many ideas from the philosophical/metaphysical viewpoint. All we know for sure though is that astrology is probably one of the most accurate tools we currently have at our disposal for further exploring the nature of our reality: time, space and our evolvement.
Meanwhile, we have to look at all souls as being equal and although Natasha's loss is devastating for her family and loved ones - and obviously touches us all - thousands of people die every week, so we have to strive to see it in context, and as yet another part of the great cyclical nature of life.
I certainly think that when a person with a high profile, such as Natasha's, leaves us in an unexpected way, it causes everyone to sit up and see things like the financial crisis and job losses in their proper perspective - if only for a short time.
These 'wake up' calls could start to come at us with increasing frequency, from various quarters, over the next few years, so we should perhaps see that, in some respects news of death causes us all to be reminded of the fact that the most precious commodity is not oil, gold, silver, stocks or banknotes, but life.
